Chapter I · Founder's Voice
A sculptor who learned to fold a necktie.
I spent ten years making objects that ended up on plinths. Then I realised the most-worn thing any man touches three times a day is a four-inch strip of silk, and almost no one had taken it seriously as a form.
Necktie Sculpture started in 2021 with a single question: what does the necktie look like if you treat it the way you would treat a bronze — with armature, moulding, finishing, and a hallmarked signature? The answer, three years and thirty-seven drops later, is a small studio of seven people on the fourth floor of 118 West 27th Street, building neckwear that is signed, numbered, and produced in runs of twelve or fewer.
We were a 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Accessories finalist before the studio existed. We were named to Bergdorf Goodman's permanent men's floor in August 2023. We have shipped to 1,200 collectors in 41 countries, and we have not taken a return on a full-price limited drop in eighteen months. None of that is the point. The point is the Folded Origami piece that took twenty-two hours and shipped to a man in Kyoto who understood what it was the moment he opened the box.

Every piece passes through the same four stages, in the same order, at the same bench. The numbers below are averages measured against the last eighteen months of production.

Sourcing · Six family-run mills
Cloth is drawn from six family-run mills in Como, Kyoto, and Edinburgh, each relationship averaging nine years or more. We do not source silk from a single named Italian mill unless the relationship is on the public record — most are not.

Forming · Eleven hours of hand-finishing
The average piece receives eleven hours of hand-finishing at the bench. Our Folded Origami series requires twenty-two hours and is released in runs of exactly seven. No drop has exceeded twelve pieces since launch.

Hallmarking · Signed on the keeper loop
Every piece is individually numbered and hallmarked on the keeper loop. The hallmark reads NS · No. 0XX / 0XX · Atelier 27, struck by hand at the bench by Eli Park before the piece leaves forming.

Documentation · Certificate & 25-year guarantee
Each release ships with a numbered certificate of authenticity, an archival care kit, and a 25-year restoration guarantee handled in-house at the Brooklyn atelier by our conservator, trained at the Met's Sherman Fairchild Center.

Spring 2025 is a run of twelve, signed and hallmarked on the keeper loop, with a numbered certificate of authenticity and the studio's 25-year restoration guarantee. Reservations close when the twelfth piece is spoken for.
